Straight answers to common questions about the provider program.
No. Trade Services Authority does not perform any services, repairs, installations, or inspections. We operate a network of reference websites and route inbound calls to participating service providers. The providers are independent businesses — they do the work, set the prices, and manage the customer relationship directly.
No. We don't sell leads, run auctions, or share calls with multiple providers. When a customer calls one of our service numbers, the call routes directly to a participating provider for that service category and location. Calls are not sent to five companies at once. There's no bidding, no competition for the same call, and no lead resale. Routing priority is based on availability and responsiveness — providers who answer their calls consistently stay at the top of the routing order.
You pay per qualified call. Pricing varies by service category, ranging from $45 for routine service work to $150 for major installations. There's no subscription, no monthly fee, no setup cost, and no minimum spend. If you don't receive any calls, you don't pay anything. Full pricing details are on the pricing page.
A qualified call is a real inbound call from a customer with legitimate service intent, calling about a service you cover, from an address inside your service radius. Calls under 30 seconds, wrong numbers, spam, robocalls, price-only inquiries with no intent to hire, and existing customer issues do not count. Every call is recorded and available for your review. If a call's qualification is unclear, we side with the provider.
Yes. If you believe a call was incorrectly marked as qualified, flag it for review. We'll listen to the recording together. If the call doesn't meet the qualification criteria, you're credited. The process is straightforward — no bureaucratic runaround.
No. There are no long-term contracts, no commitment periods, and no binding agreements beyond the basic participation terms. You agree to the Contractor Standards code of conduct, and we agree to route qualified calls to you and bill fairly. That's the arrangement.
Any time. No penalties, no early termination fees, no notice period required. If the program isn't working for you, you stop. We'd rather have providers who want to be here than providers who feel trapped.
The network covers all 50 states, with over a thousand active authority sites. Coverage density varies by market — some metro areas have strong traffic volume already, while others are still building. During registration, we'll discuss what's available in your area and give you an honest assessment of expected call volume.
Dozens of verticals and growing. The core categories include pool services, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, general contracting, bonding, and insurance. We're expanding into additional trade and professional service categories regularly. If your specialty isn't listed, register anyway — we may be building that vertical now.
Homeowners who search for services in your area and find one of our authority sites. When they call the service number, they reach you directly. Your business name and contact information are not published on the authority sites themselves — the routing happens behind the scenes through our call infrastructure.
Organic search. The authority sites are built to rank well for service-related searches in specific locations. When someone searches for "pool repair Orlando" or "HVAC contractor Virginia," our sites appear in the results. We don't run paid ads or buy traffic — the visitors are people actively looking for help with a real project.
It depends on your market, service category, and the traffic volume of the authority sites in your area. We'll give you an honest estimate during the onboarding conversation. We'd rather set realistic expectations than overpromise — some providers get several calls per week, others may see a few per month as traffic builds in newer markets.
You're not charged for calls you don't answer. If a customer calls and reaches your voicemail, that's between you and them — it only becomes a qualified call if there's a real conversation. We recommend answering or returning calls promptly, since these are customers with active needs who may call someone else if they can't reach you.
